背景
Fixed nets are an ancient fishing method, but they have efficiency issues, and it has been necessary to check the condition inside the nets before departure.
Additionally, in fixed net fishing, it is important to quickly confirm the status of fish presence on-site.
During consultations, there were concerns about the speed of existing devices displaying fish presence, and there was a request to utilize the more portable and user-friendly iPad as a display device.
Considering the marine environment, a system that presents necessary information clearly and minimizes delays was required.
取り組み
While leveraging the portability of the iPad, we focused on developing a system that displays fish presence data clearly on-site and improves display speed.
- Displaying fish presence data on the iPad
- Screen design that is easy to check on-site
- Improvement of fish presence display speed
- Joint research and development with universities
- Starlink compatible
進め方
In collaboration with the university involved in the joint development, we examined the necessary display content and operation methods for on-site use. We utilized the iPad as a display device and adjusted the transfer and rendering methods for fish presence data. This was advanced as a research and development project that involved evaluation and improvement based on actual use scenarios.
After the research concluded, further improvements have been made as a project of Ko-den Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
成果
- Easily check fish presence with the portable iPad
- Working on improving the speed of fish presence display
- Evaluation from the collaborating university
- Currently expanding to overseas markets such as Taiwan, and the range of applications is also expanding, including Starlink compatibility in areas where traditional forms of communication do not reach.
